1. Report Every Incident

Your report helps create an accurate official record of what is happening on Virginia’s private property.

2. Contact Your Legislators

Build relationships with your elected representatives. Tell them why meaningful private-property protections matter to you. Ask for an in-person meeting and bring other landowners. VPRA can provide materials.

3. Attend DWR Meetings

Participate in person or virtually. Public participation matters. Tell the Board of Wildlife Resources that landowners expect protection of their property rights.

4. Share Your Story

Personal experiences help policymakers understand real-world impacts. Contact Dave Moore, Landowner Engagement Coordinator, at david.moore@dwr.virginia.gov or 804-461-1242 to share your story.
